Michigan Coffee Roasters

We spend a lot of time in Northern Michigan – multiple ski trips each winter and exploring the many Lake Michigan beach towns in the summer. It’s a region that loves coffee and supports its local roasters. Here are a few of our favorites.

Located in an old house in downtown Northville, visiting Michigan Coffee Roasters feels like you’re paying a visit to friends! This is a cozy space with a variety of seating, both inside and out. It’s also a great spot to work if you need a quiet place. They’re open later than most coffee shops and offer free wifi.

Michigan Coffee Roasters: A Guide to Local Excellence

They’re a fairly new addition to the area’s coffee scene, but they know what they’re doing. This small-batch roaster focuses on sourcing the highest quality beans and using the best techniques to create a smooth cup of joe. They’ve already gained some national acclaim for their beans. You can find their coffee at select stores and cafes in the metro Detroit area, including Vivace in Ferndale and Hyperion in Ann Arbor.

This family-owned and operated coffee shop specializes in educating its customers about coffee and the impact it has on people’s lives. They’re big on sustainability, fair-trade and treating others well. The owner is always happy to answer questions about the various brewing methods they offer, and you’ll definitely leave with a smile on your face. We recommend stopping in for their Saturday Experience to learn all about their amazing coffees and try some different brewing methods.
